8-14-2014 Newshound Guru Adam Montana I've said it before, and I'll say it again...sometimes it's good to be
wrong. I've held onto the belief that Maliki would remain in the position
of Prime Minister, but now there is a serious chance that he will be
replaced. For those of you just tuning in, President Fuad Masum has made a bold move and
declared Haider Al-Abadi the new PM, and gave him 30 days to form the
government. There are a couple of things to consider
on the matter, so I won't be making any statements like "He is GONE"
- it would be foolish to underestimate Maliki and
possibly over-estimate the new President Fuad Masum's ability to stand by his
decision. Maliki
does have supporters and is indeed a very powerful man in Iraq.
